NGOKULANDA KWAMABHUNU

Lapho elanda ngokufa kukadingane amabhunu, nawo aveza okwawo okul-duke kakhulu kulokhu esesilobe ngakho.  Athi wona udingane wathunjwa ngusobhuza emva kwempi. Sehngathathwa-ke lelozwe ukuze likhokhe leso sikweletu.

IZINCWADI ZIKADINGANE


Ngonyaka ka-1934 abelungu bamaphepha ezindaba alelizwe bavumbulule incwadi eqondene naye udingane.

Lencwadi kuthiwa udingane wayiloba ngo-1837, eyilobela inkosi u-George IV. wasengilandi, emupha izwe okwathi ngonyaka olandelayo, u-1838, wabuya walipha upiti namanye
amabhunu, kwatffi emva kwalokho wababulala.
lncwadi leyo yokuvumelana kukadingane nopiti yalotshwa yathiwa:
"Njengoba upieter Retief, induna yamabhunu afikayo kulehzwe, uzibuyisile izinkomo zami ebezithunjwe ngusigonyela, Iezonkomo upiti usezilethe lapha kinii: mina, Dingane, inkosi yakwazulu, ngiyaqinisa, ngazisa ukuthi ngiyamupha uretief nabakwakhe-ngibabonga phela ngesenzo sabo lesoizwe lasebhodwe (enatali) namazwe ahlangene nalo, kusukela othukela kuya emzimvubu ngasentshonalanga; kusukela olwandle, ngasenyakatho: lonke lelozwe anokulisebenzisa eliphethwe yimina."

"UDingane inkosi yakwazulu elobela inkosi yasengilandi.
Ngibaphethe kahle sonke isikhathi abelungu.  Ngibanike izwe eliningi lokuzingela, kepha bahlala njalo bebangisana bexabana bodwa nanabantu bami; manje sengifuna ukuba babizwe babuyele ezweni lakubo.  Kade sonke isikhathi ngibaphethe kahle, kangikaze ngibulale noyedwa, futhi kangikaze ngibe naleyo nhliziyo.

Ngifuna	ukuba ukhamungana (Captain Gardiner) naba-
fundisi bonke	basale, ngoba sihlaiisene kamnandi nabo.
Ngicela ukuba kuthunyelwe induna esibubulungu (Port Natal), ukuhlalisa izwe lelo ngokuthula, nokuba ibheke ukuba abantu banii bangayi khqna, ibatshele ukuba bangahlali khona.  Inxa lokhu kwenziwa abelungu abakhona lapho bangasale beffiala; kodwa uma kungayeki, ngifuna basuswe.

UMGUNGUNDLOVU ONDUKU-ZIBOMVU

Lo ngomunye wemizi kadingane eniikhulu; phela yiwona owabe ulikhanda elikhulu kunayo yonke; futhi naye udingane ewuthanda ngaphezulu kuneminye.  Wawakha esebulale ushaka, ngonyaka olandelayo, ngoba ushaka wafa ngonyaka ka-1828 ngenyanga kamandulo, zingamashumi amabili nane (24 September, 1828).
